Location

Guadalajara is the capital of the state of Jalisco, which is located in the center of Western Mexico, 350 miles west of Mexico City and 200 miles east from Puerto Vallarta along the Pacific Ocean. The city is approximately 1,500 meters, or about one mile, above sea level. The metropolitan area of Guadalajara consists of four urban districts: Guadalajara, Tlaquepaque, Tonala, and Zapopan; and two suburban districts: Tlajomulco and El Salto.

Climate

The temperature in Guadalajara ranges from 55 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the year, with only about 10-15 degrees of difference on average from season to season. Winters are dry and temperate; March is the driest month, January is the coolest. Summer months produce most of the annual rainfall, with July as the wettest and May as the warmest.
